The working principle and structure of electromagnetic flow meters
Electromagnetic flowmeter uses Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction to measure flow rate. Its working principle is based on the principle of a transformer. The power supply provides current to the excitation coil, and the excitation current flows through the coil to generate a magnetic field. The magnetic field acts on the conductive medium to form an induced electromotive force, and a voltage signal proportional to the flow rate is obtained from the electrode.
Electromagnetic flow meters typically consist of sensors and converters. The flow rate of the measured fluid is converted into an induced potential by the sensor, and then output as a unified 4-20mA DC signal by the converter for display or control. The system structure is shown in the figure.
